A VEKA interior shutter has an opaque panel mounted inside the window. It provides darkness and privacy where exterior shutters are unsuitable or unwanted.
How the interior shutter is constructed
Hinged panels use a 10–15 mm opaque infill, replaceable EPDM seals, and white, golden oak or walnut finishes. Compatibility and the permitted panel dimensions are checked against the chosen VEKA hinged window.
An alternative to exterior shutters
An interior shutter provides darkness and privacy without adding a louvred assembly outside the window. It can be useful where an exterior change is unwanted or unsuitable.
The system is intended for compatible VEKA hinged windows. We assess the opening and the clearance needed for both the window and shutter.

Fitting the shutter
The shutter is attached on the inside of the compatible window assembly. It can be specified with new windows or assessed as a later addition. The façade and roller shutter box are not part of this internal assembly.

Can an interior shutter be added to an existing window?
We can assess it for compatible hinged VEKA windows. Other windows require an individual compatibility check during the visit.
Does an interior shutter help shade the room?
Its opaque panels screen light inside the glass. Exterior shutters intercept sunlight before it reaches the glazing and may be more suitable where reducing direct solar gain is the main priority.
How do I care for a PVC interior shutter?
Clean the surface with water and mild soap. Also follow the hardware and seal maintenance instructions.
Can I still use the window with an interior shutter fitted?
The shutter opens independently so that the window can be used. We check the layout and clearances before fitting it.
