Insulated roller shutter boxes
Replacing a hollow box with an insulated roller shutter box addresses a common weak point in the thermal insulation of Alicante homes. Options include VEKA Vekavariant 2.0 and Eurostar, Cortizo Isolation, and Cassonetto for built-in boxes. The suitable system depends on the existing opening and the installation.
Exterior shading
PVC louvred shutters and roller shutters intercept sunlight before it heats the glass. This is particularly useful on south- and west-facing façades. Louvred shutters allow some light and ventilation, while roller shutters can darken the room.

Motorisation and controls
Modern shutter boxes can accommodate tubular motors. Depending on the motor and control system, you can operate the shutter with a wall switch, remote control or mobile phone and programme its movement. Motorisation can make large or hard-to-reach shutters easier to use.
Frequently asked questions
Can existing roller shutters be motorised?
In many cases, yes: the shaft can be replaced and a tubular motor installed. If you are also replacing the box, we can prepare the new assembly for a motor at the factory.
Can an insect screen be integrated with a new roller shutter?
Some systems, including Vekavariant 2.0, offer an integrated insect screen. Other installations use a separate screen. We check the space and compatibility before recommending either option.
Which provides better shade: roller shutters or louvred shutters?
Both intercept sunlight outside the glass. A roller shutter can darken the room completely, while a louvred shutter allows some light and ventilation through its slats. The best choice depends on how you use the room.
