Cassonetto closes the access opening of a built-in roller shutter box with a removable cover for maintenance.
An option for finishing an existing masonry box during renovation or a recessed box specified for a new building. We assess the enclosure and insulation as part of the installation.
Cover options include a slatted panel, PS24 sandwich panelorP10 solid panel, depending on dimensions, appearance and the required assembly.

Finish a built-in roller shutter box with an accessible cover
Many older homes have built-in roller shutter boxesclosed by timber or chipboard covers that admit air and noise.Cortizo Cassonetto uses PVC-U profiles and a purpose-designed access cover.
Three cover options
- Slatted cover (ref. 1480-1): up to 300 mm high.
- PS24 sandwich panel: up to 500 mm high.
- P10 solid panel: a smooth finish, up to 500 mm high.
Renovate the existing opening
The system covers lengths from 600 to 3600 mmand depths up to300 mm, within the limits of each cover type. When replacing the window, we can assess whether the existing masonry box can be retained and finished with this access-cover system.

When retaining the box makes sense
Where the masonry enclosure is sound, Cassonetto may allow it to be retained rather than rebuilt. The existing box, sealing and available insulation still need to be assessed.
This can be useful in apartment renovations where limiting the surrounding building work is a priority.
Access for shutter maintenance
A removable cover allows access to the shutter curtain and mechanism for inspection, slat replacement or a compatible motor installation. We can consider it alongside Cortizo PVC windows, subject to the existing opening and assembly.

Can the shutter mechanism be accessed after Cassonetto is fitted?
Yes. The removable cover provides access for checking or replacing compatible shutter components and the motor.
Is Cassonetto compatible with any window?
It is a finishing system for a built-in shutter box rather than a universal window attachment. We assess the enclosure and dimensions for each project, often alongside Cortizo windows.
Can improving the box cover reduce draughts and noise?
A properly sealed cover and suitable insulation can reduce paths for air and noise through the box. The result depends on the complete enclosure and installation.
How do you choose between Cassonetto and Cortizo Isolation?
Cassonetto may suit a sound built-in masonry box that is being retained. A new compatible monoblock box, such as Cortizo Isolation, may be more appropriate where the existing assembly needs replacement. We assess the opening before recommending either.
